THE legal ban on cigarette smoking in public places seems to be influencing public perceptions.
For the smell of cigarette smoke has been identified as “Top of the Pongs” in a new survey.

The Lindsay City Council voted unanimously to approve an ordinance banning smoking in public places in the city of Lindsay during their Dec. 14 meeting. The ordinance spells out definitions, limitations and penalty provisions.
Businesses have three months to implement a written smoking policy to include customers and employees.

South Korea will ban all indoor and outdoor smoking in public places starting in 2011, to substantially reduce the country’s smoking rate, the government said Wednesday, reports Yonhap news agency.

Lansing — Detroit bar owners whose establishments are close to the Detroit casinos trekked to the state Capitol today to oppose legislation that would ban smoking in public places but make exceptions for casinos.
