A prosecutor said Thursday that New York jurors should focus on the abuse suffered by an alleged victim of police brutality.

Police caught several people smoking inside a Rock Hill bar Wednesday, a violation of the current smoking ban laws.
But police didn’t cite the smokers or the East Main Street bar because the officers didn’t have the ordinance number to write a citation, according to a Rock Hill police report.
The violation is an administrative charge, said Rock Hill Police Lt. Brad Redfearn, so it’s not written on a state citation like other offenses.

TSHESEBE: The police have said they are still on the trail of smugglers suspected to have driven trucks loaded with high quality cigarettes into Botswana from Zimbabwe.
This is contrary to reports that the culprits have been arrested and slapped with a P15,000 fine. The suspects escaped after the police confronted them, abandoning the contraband. The police recovered.

More than 60,000 illicit cigarettes and almost 160 kilos of tobacco, including a haul concealed in boxing punch bags – have been seized in south Wales.
This week as HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) continues its crack down on those who smuggle and sell non duty paid tobacco products.
The punch bags, containing 53 kilos of loose tobacco, were seized at a Newport distribution centre before they could be delivered to a house in Cardiff.

BOCA RATON – Four masked thieves stole $8,000 worth of cigarettes from a Boca Raton Publix, police said.
The burglars broke through the front entrance of the store, in the 7400 block of North Federal Highway, at about 1:10 a.m. They cut a padlock, pulled apart the metal grates and smashed the glass doors, police spokeswoman Sandra Boonenberg said.
