Smoking ban contest changed
Topekans Against the Ban, the group behind a petition drive seeking to overturn a smoking ban that took effect Dec. 4, announced some changes Tuesday regarding a contest in which it will award prizes to those who collect the most petition signatures.
Gail Trembley, an organizer of the drive, said the time frame for the contest has been reser to run from Wednesday through 5 p.m. Dec. 22.
Trembley said prizes will go to the business that collects the most signatures and to the individual Topekan who collects the most signatures.
The top Topekan, top business and whichever individual or business acquires the next-highest number of signatures will get to choose between prizes of $50 cash, a pair of front row tickets to a Topeka Roadrunners hockey game and free disc jockey service for one night.
Whoever acquires the most signatures will choose their prize first, with the second-place finisher choosing their prize next.
