He may be 55, but when actor Dennis Quaid hit the beach in Hawaii today he revealed the body of a much younger man.
Meg Ryan’s ex-husband stripped off his shirt to reveal a toned and sculpted torso, as he walked in a pair of board shorts.
The key to his impressive physique may be under his arm – a surfboard.
But Quaid didn’t look at ease as he took his surfing lesson. He struggled in the waves, failing to stand on his board.
And while he may enjoy exercise, not all Quaid’s habits are as healthy.
He was also spotted with a parliament cigarette hanging out his mouth, as he sunbathed.
The father-of-three is due to begin filming the movie Soul Surfer, the story of Bethany Hamilton, a talented 13-year-old surfer who lost her arm to a shark bite.
The movie also features Jack Nicholson’s 19-year-old daughter Lorraine as Bethany’s best friend, rising Hollywood star Anna Sophia Robb as Bethany and Sean Brosnan, actor Pierce Brosnan’s son, as her brother Noah.
But scheduling clashes have meant that Quaid has been forced to drop out of Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming film Knockout.
Bill Paxton will replace him the starring role as the father of a secret agent, played by MMA fighter Gina Carano, who is double crossed by a teammate on a mission.
The star-studded cast includes Michael Douglas, Ewan McGregor, Channing Tatum, Antonio Banderas, Michael Fassbender and Mathieu Kassovitz.
